Silsbee Woman's Club

On the afternoon of October 31, 1957, a group of women met in the home of Mrs. R. H. Ernst to listen to Mrs. A. J. House of Yoakum, Texas, (the President of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs) explain federated club work. These thirteen women felt certain there was both a need and a desire for such a club in Silsbee and so promptly organized the Silsbee Woman’s Club.

The purpose of the . . . club was stated thus: “The object of this club shall be the general intellectual improvement and social enjoyment of the members. The club shall cooperate with other organizations in promoting worthwhile projects in the community.”

Silsbee Woman's Club is a proud member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
